Borrowed from the culinary term "la mise en place” translates to everything in it's place.  La Mise En Code explores colour codes and their adjanceny to each other. In the colour wheel therory, hues are placed across from each other and are meant to be complimentary. One colour makes you notice the other colour in a different way. In this painting, colours lay next to each other and you can wonder, “do these match or clash” Each colour tile is layered upon each other similiar to the way you might lay tile on a roof with a bit of overlap.
